Emotional Lions, Euphoric Lambs

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was time to dream of mostly benign acts of symbolic vandalism, it was time to tell a few trusted compatriots how you are really actually feeling. It was the five year anniversary of the pandemic. It was March.

We began the month with a skate meetup. As we were taking our rollerskates off, I overhead an attendee say to no one in particular, “I feel euphoric.” A personal declaration, perhaps said to bookmark the feeling for her future self. At that moment, I felt a bit of gratitude to the pit of sadness that prompted me to organize a skate meetup. One of my most deeply held beliefs is that there is real utility in paying close attention to our thoughts and feelings. Not to navel gaze, but to harvest the good things and bring them out to the light. Often they resonate. I suppose that is the crux of the whole Merle Works enterprise. Hopefully you’re on this list because you’re feeling it.

The next skate meetup is May 7, but this young lady and her friends have committed to weekly returns. (They’ve been 3 times this month! God bless!).

The next workshop is on April 30th, a Wednesday night. We had a full house last Sunday and as always, it was a great group of people to mix it up with. There are a few spots still available if you want in.

Now for the sale. In case you need any spring hostess, birthday, for-no-reason, or treat-yo’self gifts, here’s an offer for 15% off, good til the end of this cursed month. Use code SPECIAL at checkout.

I added the Color Study Ts to the site. It only took me 11 months. Good things take time, you know? And I’ve got lots of exciting new stuff debuting in the coming months. BECAUSE I NEED THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO. It’s an aggressive strategy, and one I recommend!
